Rockies send down 12 prospects to minor-league camp

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Rockies made their first rosters moves of spring Monday, sending 12 players to minor-league camp.

The club optioned six players to Triple-A Albuquerque: right-handed pitchers Ryan Castellani, Rayan González and Jesus Tinoco; outfielders Yonathan Daza and Sam Hilliard and infielder Josh Fuentes.

Hard-throwing, side-arm right-handed reliever Justin Lawrence was optioned to Double-A Hartford.

The Rockies also reassigned the following non-roster invitees to minor-league camp: infielders Tyler Nevin and Colton Welker, right-handed pitcher Rico Garcia, left-handed pitcher Evan Grills and catcher Brian Serven.
