The obligatory and unavoidable question about the 2022 Rockies is pretty simple.
Can they be more successful on the road?
The Rockies begin answering the question Friday night at Detroit where they open a three-game series against the Tigers, followed by a four-game set at Philadelphia. For the record, the Rockies are 5-10 all-time at Detroit’s Comerica Park and 23-36 at Citizens Bank Park in Philly. Colorado, however, did take three of four at Philly last September.
The Rockies don’t have to be a road juggernaut. They might not even have to post a winning record away from Colorado, something that’s happened only three times in franchise history (41-40 in 2009, 41-40 in 2017, and 44-38 in 2018).
