On the mound: Right-hander Jon Gray said he didn’t have his best stuff early, but the results were excellent: no runs, one hit, five strikeouts and no walks over four innings. Gray faced the minimum number of batters and needed only 44 pitches. … Bryan Shaw is still not sharp, giving up a run, a walk and a double in his inning of work, and his ERA rose to 9.82. … Righty reliever DJ Johnson pitched a scoreless seventh and has allowed no runs, one hit and one walk in four innings this spring.
