The Modesto Nuts fell to the Bakersfield Blaze 5-1 on Friday night thanks to two bad pitches from starter Yency Almonte. Almonte turned in six innings of work allowing all five Blaze runs on nine hits, two walks and six strikeouts. The runs all came off the bat of Blaze catcher Tyler Marlette, a two-run shot in the second and a three-run blast in the sixth. It was the second rough outing in a row for Almonte, who now sits at 5-8 with a 4.
