Another tough week for the Colorado Rockies' High-A affiliate, but the second half — and the Cal League All-Star Game — is on the horizon.
Modesto, Calif. -- The Modesto Nuts were able to salvage but a single game on Saturday night this week, saving them from turning in an ofer, but it comes on the heels of some legitimately good news for the club in two parts: (a) lefty Sam Howard (No. 34 PuRP) was promoted to Double-A Hartford on the 8th, and (b) four Modesto Nuts (including Howard, who will not participate) were named to the California League's All-Star Team.
