Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles could boost rotation after some pesky injuries

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Blues legend Albert King famously sang, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all."

Right-hander Jordan Lyles can relate.

Since coming to the Rockies from the Houston Astros in a December 2013 trade, it seems like Lyles really was born under a bad sign. A broken hand in 2014 limited him to 22 starts. Last year, a toe injury that required surgery shut him down after 10 outings.

"It has not been a lot of fun, let's put it that way," he said.

This year, Lyles vows things will be different.
