A championship, that is.
By the nature of the Rockies’ uninspiring season, and his contract status, the 6-foot-4 starter knows his name could get bandied about ahead of the July 30 trade deadline. And yet the 29-year-old, with a rare success-rate at Coors Field, is almost bullish about staying in Denver.
“I just see the value in that, like, winning really hasn’t happened here yet,” said Gray (4-6, 3.97 ERA) prior to Tuesday’s game against Pittsburgh. “It would be extremely cool to be a part of the first World Series (champion) in Colorado.
