The Rockies and Padres brawled on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field after San Diego starting pitcher Luis Perdomo threw behind Nolan Arenado in the third inning. Arenado tossed his bat away and charged the mound while Perdomo threw his glove at Arenado. The benches cleared, resulting in multiple ejections.
Arenado chased Perdomo to the third base side of the mound as players rushed the field. Arenado took a swing at Perdomo but missed.
Tension between the clubs began in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s game, when the Padres’ Manuel Margot was unintentionally plunked in the ribs by Scott Oberg, landing Margot on the disabled list with bruised ribs.
