Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez picks Modesto Nuts manager Fred Ocasio to throw at Home Run Derby

As we've known for a few days, Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez will be participating in this week's Home Run Derby during All-Star Game festivities in San Diego. Now, we've learned more about CarGo's participation at the event: the outfielder has chosen minor league manager Fred Ocasio to throw to him at the Derby on Monday night.

Ocasio, 45, is a longtime coach and manager in the Rockies' organization and currently is the skipper of the High-A Modesto Nuts, the club's California League affiliate. CarGo called Ocasio on Thursday to ask about the possibility of throwing at the derby; the outfielder apparently liked the way that Ocasio threw to him during spring training in Scottsdale.
