Following Thursday afternoon’s series finale against Arizona at Coors Field, Colorado heads on its final road trip of the season for a dozen-game NL West stint that begins Friday night against the Giants.

San Francisco’s September woes

It doesn’t take a whole lot of opposition research to figure out fourth-place San Francisco is currently the coldest team in all of baseball, and that the Friday through Sunday series is a huge three-game opportunity for the Rockies to capitalize against the free-falling Giants.

After being swept by the Braves on Wednesday at AT&T Park, the Giants have now dropped a franchise-record 11 straight games.
