Rockies move closer Jake McGee to disabled list, call up Tyler Anderson

Rockies left-hander Jake McGee, whose fastball Friday night to Wil Myers turned into a game-breaking home run, fell even farther Saturday. The club moved him to the 15-day disabled list with left knee inflammation.

And in a surprise move, the Rockies replaced him in the bullpen with rookie left-hander Tyler Anderson, a 26-year-old drafted in the first round in 2006.

McGee inherited a 5-3 lead Friday night against the Padres and forced two outs. He then gave up two singles, a double and a three-run home run to Myers and San Diego eventually won 7-5.
