Rockies manage just two hits as they squander Kyle Freeland’s quality start vs. Astros

Rockies lefty Kyle Freeland let out a primal scream — with some words unprintable for a family newspaper — at the end of the sixth inning Monday night.

Freeland, who thought he was being squeezed by home plate umpire Rob Drake, put a passionate exclamation point on his fifth quality start in a row.

Too bad the Rockies’ offense didn’t display that same kind of power and energy at Houston’s Minute Maid Park in a 2-1 loss to the Astros. The Rockies managed just two hits as they fell for the sixth time in their last eight games.
