Left-hander Kyle Freeland, the Rockies’ best and most consistent starter since mid-June, left Wednesday afternoon’s game at Texas in the second inning with an apparent injury. He departed after walking this first hitter he faced in the second inning and after throwing just 21 total pitches.
The Rockies did not immediately announce why Freeland left the game.
Earlier on Wednesday, the club placed right-hander Jon Gray on the injured list with a tight right forearm.
