PHOENIX — Rockies starter Kyle Freeland was pulled from Tuesday night’s game against Arizona in the sixth inning with an apparent leg injury.

The left-hander appeared to land awkwardly on the mound while he was pitching to the Diamondbacks’ Nick Ahmed. He departed with one out, a runner on second and the game tied 3-3. Freeland had given up two earned runs on five hits when he left the game.

Freeland, a Denver native, has struggled this season. He entered Tuesday’s game 3-10 with a 7.09 ERA but is hoping to finish the season strong.
