Kris Bryant’s search for a solution is taking him to Los Angeles.
The Rockies’ oft-injured designated hitter is scheduled to undergo an ablation on his lower back in L.A. on Thursday, hoping the procedure will help him get back on the field. Bryant, 33, has been on the injured list since April 13 with what the club calls “lumbar degenerative disc disease.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, nerve ablation is a procedure that destroys nerves in an area of pain. Destroying the nerves helps reduce or stop pain signals. It can sometimes help relieve long-term pain.
