As it turns out, Jon Gray’s forearm injury has not healed completely.
The Rockies placed the right-handed starter on the 10-day injured list Wednesday because of lingering tightness in his forearm. He was scheduled to start Thursday’s game against Atlanta at Coors Field.
Manager Bud Black said Tuesday that Gray had no issues with his arm during a bullpen session and said that Gray would likely make his start on Thursday.
“Once he realized that he felt good, there were no issues with the forearm, and he worked on his pitches,” Black said. “We worked on fastball command, a consistent delivery, a consistent arm slot.
