“Every day is a test.”
That’s one of manager Bud Black’s pet phrases, one that carries added weight for a number of young players as the Rockies play out September.
Right-hander Antonio Senzatela certainly passed a big test Wednesday night in Colorado’s 2-1 victory over St. Louis. The Rockies rode a go-ahead solo homer from Ian Desmond in the sixth inning to win their second straight over the Cardinals, who are trying to nail down a National League Central title.
Senzatela, trying to gain traction for next season by performing well at the tail end of this season, allowed one run on four hits over six innings.
