Rockies’ German Marquez pitches two scoreless innings in Cactus League debut

Rockies 7, Mariners 1
Saturday at Peoria Sports Complex

On the mound: Right-hander German Marquez, working his way back from a sore hamstring, made his first Cactus League showing and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one walk and fanning two.

Lefty Kyle Freeland got the start and rebounded from a rough first spring start. Freeland held the Mariners scoreless through three innings, allowing three hits while walking one and striking out two.

At the plate: Infielder Alan Trejo hit his first home run of spring, parking a pitch in the second inning.
