Rockies-Dodgers open three-game series Monday with NL West lead at stake

SAN FRANCISCO — Over the last two seasons, general manager Jeff Bridich, the chief architect of the Rockies’ rebirth, has stated that his club’s goal was to “play meaningful games in September.”

The games don’t get much more meaningful than the next three in Los Angeles where the Rockies and Dodgers play a series that could determine the National League West champions.
