The Rockies placed prized rookie right-hander Chase Dollander on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right forearm tightness. The move is retroactive to Monday.
It’s another blow for a team that entered Thursday afternoon’s game against the Phillies with an 8-41 record and on pace to lose more games than any team in the majors’ modern era (since 1901).
The Rockies have not yet commented on Dollander’s injury.
Dollander was scheduled to pitch on Friday night against the Yankees at Coors Field. The club recalled right-handed pitcher Juan Mejia from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.
