PHOENIX — As the Rockies opened the second half of their season, they made a significant roster move prior to Friday night’s game against Arizona by recalling veteran catcher Ryan Hanigan from Triple-A Albuquerque and optioning catcher Tom Murphy.
Hangian will be in the starting lineup Friday night when the Rockies take on the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Also, second baseman DJ LeMahieu, who strained his groin during Tuesday night’s loss at San Francisco, is not in the starting lineup. There is no word yet if the Rockies are planning to put LeMahieu on the 10-day disabled list.
