Rockies by the numbers: RISP, OBP and ERA defined their losing season

0

The Rockies’ 2020 season is in the books.

Given that the season was shortened to 60 games because of the coronavirus pandemic, there will be plenty of asterisks and caveats applied to statistics, streaks, slumps, accomplishments, failures and awards. That makes total sense.

Rockies apologists will say that the truncated season was not a true measure of the team, noting, for instance, that the Washington Nationals opened the 2019 season with a 19-31 record but rebounded to win the World Series. That, however, is an empty argument.

All 30-big league teams knew the score going into the truncated season.
