With a chance to win two consecutive road games for the first time this year, the Rockies blew it. Again.
A 4-0 lead disappeared, and a two-run ninth-inning advantage was squandered for the team with the worst road record in baseball.
Milwaukee rallied at home for a 5-4 win in 11 innings, giving the Rockies yet another dispiriting loss in a season full of them.
“We battled. We scored four. We had a lead with seven outs to go and we couldn’t nail it down,” Rockies manager Bud Black said. “That’s baseball. It happens.”
This happened: Keston Hiura’s line drive sacrifice fly to left center with the bases loaded scored Manny Pina with the winning run.
