Rockies 7, Diamondbacks 2: Tim Melville brilliant in return to the majors

The Rockies avoided the sweep in their final game against the Diamondbacks in 2019, winning 7-2. The Snakes were limited to four hits and their two runs were scored on solo homers by Ketel Marte and Alex Avila.

Tim Melville is a great story. He hadn’t pitched in the majors since 2017 and started this year out in the Atlantic League with the Long Island Ducks. He signed with the Rockies in May and has spent the year in Albuquerque.

Today, he did it all. Not only did he pitch seven innings of two-hit baseball (the first Rockies pitcher to do that since April), but he also had his first major league hit and recorded his first two RBI.
