Tanner Gordon threw six scoreless innings, the bullpen was nearly perfect and the Rockies offense combined for 12 hits to provide more than enough offense for Colorado to beat the Cardinals 6-0 on Wednesday.
Not only did the win mark the second consecutive and second overall series win at Coors Field this season, but the Rockies (26-76) are now 4-2 since returning from the All-Star break. Colorado also posted its first shutout since beating the Padres 8-0 on May 15, 2024 in San Diego. The win broke the longest shutout drought in MLB history in the Modern Era (since 1901), which the Rockies held at 220 games.
