Friday’s blowout victory for the Rox was a team win - another excellent start from Germán Márquez and some explosive offense. A strong showing in game one, this sets them up nicely for the rest of the series with the Marlins.
Márquez is great...duh
There really aren’t enough superlatives for Germán Márquez this season. While the lead story from this game will no doubt be the Rockies offense, we have to be sure to give their starting pitcher his flowers. The right-hander that should have started the All-Star Game was once again brilliant on Friday, as he held Miami to just two hits (both doubles) and one walks versus seven strikeouts in his six innings of work.
