Reds 3, Rockies 2: Lack of clutch dooms Rockies

The Rockies dropped the series finale against the Reds, dropping their fourth straight series. As a team, they went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. They also struck out nine times. This is the Rockies’ 12th loss in 16 games. However, there were a few bright spots.

Yonder in the clutch

Yonder Alonso was the team’s 1 of 13 to score with a man in scoring position, hitting a 413 foot homer in the fifth inning to tie the ballgame at two. It was his first as a Rockie.
