The Colorado Rockies were beat soundly by the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. Boston was able to take advantage of a young pitcher making his debut and get a 10-6 victory at Coors Field.
Thrown into the fire
This was always going to be a tough spot for Rico Garcia. Even with the pleasant surprise of his ascension through the minor league system this season, the Rockies surely were not thinking he would be making big league starts this season - certainly not before September.
So it would have been asking a lot of Garcia no matter what, but especially so against a lineup like the Red Sox.
