As the rain picked up toward the end of the game at Fenway Park, it seemed like a fitting end to another series where the Rockies remain stuck under a losing storm cloud.
Against the Red Sox, the Rockies were outplayed in every aspect of the game and swept for the first time in regular season history in the all-time Boston-Colorado series. Including the Rockies 10-2 loss on Wednesday night, Colorado was outscored 29-7 in three games as it dropped to 21-72, while Boston (49-45) won its sixth straight.
Despicable 8th
Already down 5-2 going into the bottom of the eighth, the Rockies needed a miracle to pull off a win.
