The pyrotechnics arrived early Friday night at Coors Field, much to the Rockies’ joy and the Brewers’ chagrin.
With 44,082 on hand for fan-appreciation fireworks night, the Rockies’ bats sizzled in an 11-7 win over playoff-bound Milwaukee. Colorado’s seven-run sixth inning included a pinch-hit grand slam home run by Raimel Tapia off reliever Jay Jackson and a solo homer by Charlie Blackmon. The sixth also was fueled by five walks issued by Brewers pitchers.
Tapia’s blast to right field was his fourth pinch-hit home run of the season and the second pinch-hit grand slam of his career.
