The Rockies entered the eighth inning Sunday afternoon trailing Arizona 7-3 and staring into the abyss of a three-game sweep at Coors Field.
Enter fan favorite Raimel Tapia.
The outfielder delivered a game-tying, bases-loaded triple off reliever Archie Bradley, waking up the previously sleepy crowd of 40,262. Ryan McMahon‘s opposite-field single to left off Andrew Chaffin was the game-winner in Colorado’s stunning 8-7 victory.
Bradley melted down — big time — giving up singles to Trevor Story and Nolan Arenado, and then walking David Dahl with the bases loaded just before Tapia’s triple, which came on a 3-1 fastball.
