Earlier, in what we thought was the 2020 MLB preseason, Purple Row predicted the Rockies 26-man roster coming out of spring training. Now that the season is finally beginning to take shape, it’s time to revisit the Rockies’ roster and project what it will look like on Opening Day.
For the 2020 season, everything is different, including rules regarding the roster. Teams are required to submit a list of 60 players, making up the Club Player Pool, composed of a 40-man roster and a “taxi squad” of 20 players. On Opening Day, teams are allowed an active roster of 30 players, reduced to 28 players after two weeks, and finally reduced to 26 players after an additional two weeks.
