Welcome back to the Pebble Report Podcast!
Justin Wick and Kenneth Weber are back with a full breakdown on the Riley Pint retirement. Pint was the fourth-overall selection in the 2016 draft, and the Rockies gave $4.8 million to an 18-year-old from Kansas that routinely worked in triple digits. The right-hander had posted a 3.38 ERA in 10 2⁄3 total innings with High-A Spokane this year, but holds a career minor league ERA of 6.86 and walked 163 batters in 166 2⁄3 career innings.
Also discussed is the current landscape of Triple-A pitching depth; as the Rockies have lost Jon Gray to the injured list, where can they turn beyond sixth starter Chi Chi González?
