Padres score early off Chad Bettis, Rockies lose 4-3 in San Diego

Starting pitcher Chad Bettis wasn't sharp at the outset, and four runs against him—including two home runs—in the first three innings ended up dooming the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night, as the San Diego Padres won 4-3 at Petco Park.

The Padres opened up scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Wil Myers hit a solo home run off Bettis, but the Rockies answered back quickly in return. In the top of the second inning, Charlie Blackmon hit a double that scored both Mark Reynolds and Nick Hundley, and gave the Rockies the lead against Andrew Cashner.
