Yonathan Daza is thousands of miles away from his native country of Venezuela while playing in the major leagues. But he found a second home in the Rockies’ clubhouse.
“It’s like a family,” Daza said. “All the Americans and foreign players get along.”
That Colorado comfort is evident in Daza’s play. The 27-year-old outfielder has been a catalyst of the Rockies’ home success. Daza is batting .377 at Coors Field — the third-highest home average among all MLB players — and extended his hits streak to eight games on Saturday night against the Brewers.
“We’re all proud of him down here,” manager Bud Black said.
