Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story remain in second in NL all-star vote

Rockies’ Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story maintained their No. 2 spots in the National League all-star vote at their respective positions. But in Wednesday’s ballot update, outfielder Carlos Gonzalez climbed two spots from 11th to ninth among outfielders.

Arenado continues to trail Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, who expanded his lead to about 331,000 votes. Arenado leads the National League in home runs (18), runs scored (43) and runs batted in (49).

Story, Colorado’s rookie shortstop, fell further behind Chicago’s Addison Russell, whose lead is now roughly 120,000 votes. Story is among the NL’s best several offensive categories, including home runs (16 — third), RBI (42 — second) and slugging percentage (.
