Nolan Arenado ranked third-best player in baseball by MLB Network

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Nolan Arenado’s stardom received a boost Thursday night when the MLB Network named him its No. 3 players in the the majors, trailing only the Angels’ Mike Trout and Boston’s Mookie Betts.

Arenado, who recently inked a record $26 million deal to avoid salary arbitration, is entering the final year of his contract with the Rockies. Owner Dick Monfort has expressed optimism that a long-term deal will get worked out. Arenado is not certain what the future holds, but he did want to send Rockies fans a message.

“I want them to know that everything is good,” he said.
