MLB Draft results 2016: Chicago White Sox draft Colorado native RHP Alec Hansen with No. 49 pick

Once considered a possible top-10 draft choice, Colorado native and current Oklahoma Soomers pitcher Alec Hansen dropped all the way down to the 49th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, now a member of the Chicago White Sox. This is the second time Hansen has been drafted, previously chosen by the Colorado Rockies in the 25th round of the 2013 MLB Draft when he was a high schooler in Loveland, Colorado.

Hansen never really found traction this spring and dropped out of the Sooners' rotation at one point. He made 14 appearances (10 starts) with a 3-5 W-L record and a 5.
