MLB Draft 2016: The Colorado Rockies draft Georgia RHP Robert Tyler with the 38th overall pick

The Colorado Rockies have made Robert Tyler, a right-handed pitcher from Georiga, their second selection in the the 2016 MLB amateur draft. Combined with Riley Pint, the Rockies first overall pick, the Rockies have had a strong start to the draft and will pick one more time tonight 45th overall in the second round.

Like Pint, Tyler is known for his big fastball that has reached triple digits. Ranked as the 25th best prospect by mlbpipeline.com, Tyler's fastball has been graded as a 75 on the classic 20 to 80 scale. His secondary pitches need development, and there is some thought that his future is in the bullpen because of that.
