The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions for 2020.
After beating the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 6, Major League Baseball announced Dodgers’ Justin Turner was pulled from the game after learning he tested positive for coronavirus. Following the game, Turner was seen on the field celebrating with teammates. His appearance on field caused an uproar on social media.
On Wednesday, MLB responded to inquiries on Turner and issued a statement “regarding the circumstances” involving the star third baseman. Below is the full statement from MLB:
“Immediately upon receiving notice from the laboratory of a positive test, protocols were triggered, leading to the removal of Justin Turner from last night’s game.
