Just over a week after Jerry Schemmel lost his spot in the Rockies broadcast booth for KOA radio, iHeartMedia Denver announced that sports director Mike Rice would become its new play-by-play voice this upcoming season.
Rice will join Jack Corrigan, entering his 18th season covering the Rockies, on all game broadcasts and host the “Rockies All Access” show on Saturdays. Schemmel held the position alongside Corrigan the past 10 years before losing it last week as part of job cuts around the country by iHeartMedia — the largest radio conglomerate in the United States.
