Mickey Moniak’s walk-off triple lift Rockies to 6-5 win over Cubs

The Rockies owned it, blew it, then walked it off on a crazy Sunday afternoon at Coors Field.

Mickey Moniak‘s ninth-inning triple drove in Ryan Ritter to lift the Rockies to a 6-5 win over the Cubs, snapping the Rockies’ four-game losing streak. Moniak drove reliever Daniel Palencia’s slider into the right-field corner. Ritter led off the ninth with a single.

One inning before, one swing of Ian Happ’s bat sent the throngs of Cubs fans at Coors into a frenzy.

With the Rockies leading 5-2, reliever Luis Peralta issued a leadoff walk to Michael Busch and Kyle Tucker followed with a single.
