Ian Desmond is the Rockies’ first baseman in training, but now there’s a chance veteran Mark Reynolds could be his backup in 2017.
Reynolds, 33, was Colorado’s primary first baseman last season. He agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year, minor-league contract with the club. He also received an invitation to big-league camp, but he’ll have to prove himself to find a spot on the roster.
