SAN DIEGO — Good thing for the Rockies that Mark Reynolds is a fast healer.
When the first baseman underwent surgery to removed a fractured bone in his left hand on Aug. 15, there was talk that his season — and perhaps his Rockies career — were over. But there he was Sunday afternoon, rocketing a line-drive solo home run in the 10th inning off Kevin Quackenbush to beat the Padres 3-2 at Petco Park.
Adam Ottavino gave up a walk in the bottom of the 10th but kept his poise and collected his fourth save. The victory gave Colorado a split in the four-game series with the Padres.
