Keeler: Shohei Ohtani’s 510-foot Home Run Derby shot like “lightning,” says Coors Field fan who had it bounce off his hand

From 510 feet away, Brian Lubinski gave Shohei Ohtani the finger.

Two fingers, actually.

Wasn’t enough.

“I’m right-handed,” Lubinski said from The Rooftop, Coors Field’s party deck, early Monday night. “So I should’ve caught it.”

If you blow up the video of Ohtani’s 510-foot warm-up shot, the one that hit the fourth deck at Coors Field just before the start of the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby, Brian’s pixelated grimace turns up right at the end.

He’s the guy in the white Cubs All-Star Game jersey and the shades. The one pleading with the baseball gods after just missing another one.
