Jeff Bridich declines to comment on rift with Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich declined to speak publically Tuesday about his strained relationship with all-star third baseman Nolan Arenado.

On the day Rockies pitchers and catchers reported to spring training, Bridich was asked what he wanted to say regarding Arenado. He replied: “Nothing. There is no comment. I haven’t had any comment to this point, so we’ll move past that. Next question.”

The Rockies’ offseason has been quiet except for the tumultuous relationship between Bridich and Arenado, who last February signed an eight-year, $260 million contract. Trade rumors began to heat up in early December at baseball’s winter meetings and then gained momentum.
