DENVER -- Whether it was golden opportunity or sticky challenge, Rockies righty starting pitcher Jon Gray let both slip through his fingers Wednesday night in a 7-4 loss to the Giants at Coors Field.
The Rockies maintain a 1 1/2-game lead in the National League West and took two of three from the division-rival Giants. They are 4-2 on a nine-game homestand that concludes with three against the surging Dodgers starting Friday night.
But they face deepening concern with Gray -- their Opening Day starter the last two years.
