LOS ANGELES — The rush of familiar football memories hit Kyle Parker this month after that other sport kicked off. But the former starting quarterback at Clemson doesn't miss it.
"I love coming to work and not getting hit every day," he said.
The Rockies' 25-year-old left fielder and first baseman, a first-round pick (26th overall) in 2010, is getting his longest look at the major leagues in a still-budding career.
But Parker is still waiting to break through.
"There are times when I'm going really, really good. And then other times when I'm down," Parker said.
