PHOENIX — Drew Stubbs, the Rockies outfielder who was demoted to Triple-A Albuquerque because of a high number of strikeouts, was recalled by the club Thursday afternoon. Stubbs will be available to play Thursday night when the Rockies play the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
To make room for Stubbs, the Rockies optioned utility player Rafael Ynoa to Triple-A.
"I think being sent down was good for me," Stubbs said. "I got back to being myself again. Stuff had compounded on me to where I wasn't playing effective baseball. I felt like that wiped the slate clean.
