LOS ANGELES — Dodger Stadium had become a relatively serene place Tuesday night, what with the home team going hitless from the second inning through the fifth and trailing the Rockies 3-2.
But that changed as quickly as lightning on two Bryan Shaw pitches in the sixth inning, unleashing an earthquake of noise at Chavez Ravine as the Dodgers rallied for a 5-3 victory.
Shaw relieved Colorado starter Chad Bettis and immediately ran into trouble in the sixth, yielding a leadoff single to Matt Kemp and lighting the fuse to L.A’s rally. Chris Taylor’s two-run homer brought the fans to their feet, and before they could settle back into their seats, Yasiel Puig crushed a solo homer deep into the left-field seats.
